By using The Forge, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

1. Nature of the Application

The Forge is a purely client-side (frontend) application. Your creative data (lyrics, projects, recordings) is stored locally in your browser (localStorage, IndexedDB) and optionally in your own Dropbox or Google Drive account (voluntary synchronization). The exception is Creators Wall — posts you choose to share are stored on the server with a hashed IP address.

The author has no access to your local lyrics, songs, or recordings. Publicly shared posts on Creators Wall are visible to all visitors.

1A. License to Use

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for personal, non-commercial use of The Forge for:

Writing your own songs and lyrics
Dropbox synchronization (optional)
Exporting your data for personal use

1C. Display License (Creators Wall)

If you share song lyrics on /creators (Content Wall), you grant The Forge a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display that text on theforgewrite.com and affiliated platforms (including OG cards for social media sharing). You retain full copyright ownership. You may revoke this license at any time by deleting your post.

1D. Creators Wall Data Retention

Posts on /creators that are not approved within 90 days of creation will be automatically deleted. Approved posts with no activity (new comments) older than 90 days may also be automatically archived. You are informed of these deletions in advance by this condition.

2. Prohibited Activities

A) Intellectual Property

Copying, reproducing, or distributing source code
Reverse engineering, decompiling, or deobfuscating
Creating competing applications using the Lyric Engine
Creating forks/clones without written permission
Creating modifications for third parties
Benchmarking the algorithm against competitors
Measuring Lyric Engine performance without consent

B) Distribution & Access

Selling, renting, or sublicensing the license
Public hosting of the application without a license
API republishing — publicly exposing /api/rhymes-cz
Renting access for money
Sharing your account with other users

C) Data & Algorithms

Scraping, crawling, or automated data extraction
Extracting the rhyme dictionary (~386,000 words)
Copying the G2P algorithm or phonetic analysis
Using rhyme scoring in competing projects
Reverse engineering the scoring system

D) Security

DDoS or DoS attacks
Bot attacks and automated downloading
SQL injection or XSS attempts
Theft of Dropbox tokens or session cookies
Phishing or social engineering

E) Service Abuse

Monetizing the app without consent (ads, premium versions)
Creating commercial services based on The Forge
Using the app to generate revenue without a contract with the author

Violation of any point = immediate access termination + legal action.

3. Intellectual Property

All content of The Forge (including Lyric Engine, rhyme dictionary, G2P algorithm, phonetic analysis, etc.) is the exclusive intellectual property of the author and is protected by Czech and international law.

Specially protected components (trade secret):

Lyric Engine (lyric-engine.ts, lyric-engine-cz.ts, lyric-engine-en.ts)
Phonetic engine and G2P algorithm (rhyme-analysis.ts)
Rhyme dictionary and scoring algorithms
Rhyme scheme detection system

3A. Technical Protections

The application contains technical protection measures (obfuscation, rate limiting, CSP, etc.). Circumventing these protections in any way is prohibited.

3B. User Content

All content you create (song lyrics, recordings, projects) remains your exclusive property. The author has no access to it and requires no license to use, analyze, or process it.

4. Monitoring

Monitored activity includes detection and prevention of prohibited activities — bots, scrapers, attacks, and security incidents. Your local data (texts, songs, recordings) is not monitored or stored on the server. The exception is Creators Wall posts, which are voluntarily shared and stored on the server for display purposes.

5. Limitation of Liability

The application is provided „as is“ (AS IS) without any warranties. The author is not liable for:

Data loss (always export your data)
Service interruptions
Inaccuracy of rhyme analysis results
Any damages arising from use of the application

Early Access / Pre-Alpha Version

This is a pre-alpha version of the application. It may contain bugs, be unstable, crash, or have limited functionality. You use it solely at your own risk.

5A. Third Parties

The application integrates the following third-party services: Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (CDN and security), Supabase (authentication), Upstash Redis (rate limiting), PostHog (optional anonymous analytics on consent), Dropbox API (optional sync), Google Drive API (optional sync). The author has no access to your data on Dropbox or Google Drive. We do not guarantee the availability or security of third parties.
